Edward “ED” Clemmons Ed Clemmons enters his first year as Assistant Coach for the Spalding University Golden Eagles. Coach Clemmons has over 25 years of coaching under his belt which he started at Lexington Bryan Station Sr. High School. After leaving Bryan Station Clemmons went on to Coach at Trinity High School in Louisville, KY and then to Seneca High School where he has spent the last 10 years of his career. Coach Clemmons was fortunate enough to coach under two High School Hall of Fame coaches in Eddie Sellars and John Doggendorf. Much of his experience and knowledge of this game comes from these two great minds. Clemmons had the opportunity to run a travel team from the state of Kentucky and was able to take that team to the USSSA World Series and finish as runners up in that tournament. 9 of his players from that same team went on to play college baseball. Coach Clemmons, a Louisville, KY native is married to his wife Kim and has three children. They have two sons, Brandon and Bryan who both play college baseball and one daughter named Jenna. “When I got this job it was my full intention to bring a local coach on staff who knows the Louisville area,” Head Coach Mike Stawski says. “I had the opportunity to meet a lot of guys but Ed stood out amongst the rest. He has a passion for this game and his knowledge and track record speak for themselves. Most importantly I believe our guys will benefit from him being on staff both as players on the field, and people off the field. We are excited to have Coach Clemmons with us.”
