Manual’s Klein to Play Basketball at Spalding
Janie Klein, a 5-6 guard from Manual High School, has committed to attend Spalding University. Klein was a starter for the first half of her senior year until a high ankle sprain forced her to miss the majority of the remainder of the season. She played in a total of 93 games during her career and was a key contributor during Manual’s run to the Seventh Region title in 2008.
Spalding coach Charlie Just feels that Klein will be an asset to the Spalding program. “Janie is a true point guard who thinks pass first and shot second,” he said. “She has excellent court sense and does things on the floor to make her teammates better. In addition, she knows what it takes to be successful, having played in a quality program at Manual. We are excited that she has decided to attend Spalding and become a part of our team.”
Klein becomes the second commitment for Spalding, joining Janay Jones from Lewis and Clark Community College.
