Former PRP Standout Janay Jones Commits to Spalding

Janay Jones, a 5-6 guard who earned All-District and All-Region honors at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in 2005 and 2006, has committed to play basketball at Spalding University.  Jones becomes the first commitment for the Golden Eagles, who recently won the USCAA National Championship in March.

After graduation from PRP, Jones attended Lewis and Clark Community College, where she played for two seasons.  She averaged 7.5 points per game as a freshman and 6.0 as a sophomore.  Spalding Coach Charlie Just is happy to have Jones as a part of the Golden Eagle program.  “Janay is an excellent shooter and a very good athlete,” he commented.  “She has the ability to play any position on the perimeter, and we are looking forward to having her with us as we begin play in a new conference next season.”
